What Stage Does This Sound Like For Esophageal Cancer?

They believe my father may have esophageal cancer, but as of very soon the only symptom have been an bitter reflux type sickness as of late. They told him nearby is a lesion inside his esophagus, and they did the biopsy so it's just a waiting team game now. If it is cancer, it's probably pretty precipitate. Does he have a history of reflux, or is this alien? Having a history of acid reflux increases the risk of esophageal cancer, but it could also be an carbuncle, or just an irritation. No panic until the biopsy comes back, okay? :)
Probably 1 or 2.they may hold caught it early and he may thump it...so KEEP YOUR HEAD UP and THINK POSITIVE !

I really don't know if it is cancer, but I must tell you that probably it isn't. From what you said, is a greatly slight possibility of being cancer.
But if it is nobody can report you the stage without surgery. A biopsy will inform you if it is cancer or not, but it can't tell you the stage.
A pathologist can bring up to date you the stage by looking under microscope the entire wall of the esophagus and the lymph nodes.
