One night my heart woke me up it be pounding so hard, took my blood preasure, it be normal? too usual for me as i have large BP, my pulse was unbelievably high, go to Er had blood work, be given a script for low potassiumn Klor-Con yes i take a diuretic (water pill), after a month on potassiumn pills, my level are still low, heart races, i come close to faint all the time, im 52, and hold used Bp meds for years never had a potassiumn lose back, why now? and if its not the hose down pill what else could it be?Whats cause my potassiumn level to drop hazardously low?
I could very economically be the diuretic. I took laxis for about 5 years and have to stop because it was cause my potassium to drop too low and was cause headaches. I be changed to Bumex which is a potassium sparing diuretic. Although there are times where on earth I do need to pilfer the potassium pills, that's rare in a minute.
If you are taking a diuretic, Lasix, it is a potassium depleting drug. You can also increase your potassium with food IE. bananas and white potatoes.
Orange fruits and vegies, too. Look on label.
OJ very big in potassium, pottaoes, bananas, mangoes, tomatoes. V8 liquid is high surrounded by sodium and potassium.
Hot environment at home, work ? Use a sauna ? Being long in the warmth, or long exercise in the bake, increases potassium loss.
If you are on a diuretic low potassium is a common side effect. Check next to your doctor.
