What made you want to be an oncology doctor?

-for oncology doctors...or anyone who knows such a character and cares to speculate:)
I am fascinated and humbled by these race. Thank you!What made you want to be an oncology doctor?
I've shadowed some oncologists and a lot of them get into it for the patients. They absolutely love cancer patients. There's something intrinsically different nearly them: zest for life, thankfullness, and optimism that be paid them very rewarding family to treat. However I know a surgical oncologist who doesn't go out much anymore because when he encounter former patients, just seeing him make them cry/vomit. He's a really nice guy but I guess he conjures up a lot of bleak memories.
It is amazing the choices people brand pursuing a medical degree.I don't why they variety these choices,but thank God they do!I am in my 5th year of remission-I love my Oncologist!
